Standout North Carolina OL Names Leader

Pierre Andrews is a good looking 2006 OL prospect from the powerhouse North Carolina school known as Independence High. Who is he looking at the most right now?

"I like Virginia and Georgia because that's all the schools I've visited so far," Pierre Andrews said.

Does he have an early favorite?

"Georgia. I always wanted to go to a Georgia school. The program is good and I've got three teammates going there now (Mohamed Massaquoi, Joe Cox, Mario Raley)."

What is he looking for most in a school?

"I want a good football program and academics. A school that will treat you right when your down in the dumps and stuff like that."

Pierre will definitely be a big man to watch in the coming year.

Scott Kennedy Scouting Report: Pierre Andrews has excellent mobility and the desire to keep hitting until the whistle blows. A defender better not be watching the pile downfield, because Andrews has the quickness and the mean streak to get 15 yards downfield to hit another player that might just be watching. He is a prototypical pulling guard on the next level that gives offenses a lot of flexibility because of his mobility. He and is linemates are a key reason why Independence High School is so good; they can get it done on the ground as well as through the air.

He was a standout at the Kennedy/CES Combine and showed his quickness in a camp setting; he looks even quicker where it counts: on the field.

See him in action in this presentation by ScoutTV. He wears #78, and he plays left guard.
