"I like Georgia, Michigan, Florida, Florida State, Tennessee, Alabama, Indiana and Illinois, but Georgia, Florida, Michigan, Tennessee, Florida State are my top 5 right now," Tony Wilson said.
Who's on top right now?
"Georgia is my favorite. They're my school. I started looking at them when they beat LSU 45-16 last year. That showed me they were big time."
Wilson also likes Georgia's new assistant coach, Kirby Smart.
"Kirby recruited me when I was in my 10th grade year for LSU, and he's moved to Georgia now. He's just really
cool; I like him a lot."
What stands out about the other schools in his top 5?
Michigan: "I like Braylon Edwards. He went over 2,000yds receiving and they throw the ball."
Florida: "I talked to Coach Meyer and the receiver coach and I know they throw the ball. They only have 5 wideouts on the depth chart for next year as well."
Florida State: "I've been liking them since I was little. My cousin went there around the mid 90's and they've been one of my favorites since I was small."
Tennessee: "I went up there for a national track meet and we saw the football players working out. I just think I'd fit in well up there."
Does Wilson have a position preference?
"I want to play receiver. I'd prefer offense, but I like defense as well."
Wilson is a standout on the track as well.
"I run basically everything in track except the long distance events. My best event is the 200. My best time was a 21.90."
Does the Mainland star have any early camp plans?
"I'm going to Tennessee for an Addidas camp in March, and Georgia is looking good for me right now also. I'll probably go to Florida and Florida State as well."
Will he commit early or stretch it out?
"I'm going to wait until the end to make a decision. I watched Avery and all those schools dropped coaches so I don't see no need to commit to early."
How do his grades look right now?
"I got a 3.3 GPA right now. I take the ACT on April 9th. I want to major in criminal justice. I want to be a probation officer and make a difference in folks' lives."
What is he looking for most in a school?
"First I'm looking for a good education. I want to see the lifestyle after that. How I fit in. I want to see how I stand on the depth chart."
How were Wilson's stats last year?
"I went over 1,000 all purpose. I had over 600 receiving and on defense I had like 20 tackles and 6 interceptions. On returns I averaged like 100yds a game."
Wilson has picked up 2 early offers.
"Georgia and Florida have offered me. LSU offered me back in the 10th grade but I don't know if that's still there since they changed coaches."
Wilson is ranked the #10 prospect on Larry Blustein's pre-season Top
275 in Florida.
