Second Half of SEC Schedule Starts Today vs. Ole Miss

Georgia tips off the second half of its Southeastern Conference schedulewith a Saturday afternoon home game against Ole Miss. The Bulldogs will try to stop a 2game losing streak that began last Saturday at Vanderbilt and continued Wednesday night at South Carolina.

Despte the losing streak, the Bulldogs are still 16-5, 5-3 in SEC play, and they remained in first place of the Eastern Division when this day began. That's the second straight year that Georgia completed the first half of its league schedule by leading the SEC East. Last year the Bulldogs played the second half at 3-5 but still finished asurprising third, two slots ahead of their predicted finish.

Few people, if any, predicted that Georgia would be in a similar position this year. The attrition from that 16-15 team was simply too great to expect the Bulldogs tore cover and field a competitive squad. But they've gotten improvement from all their incumbent players — and have embraced the addition of the Hayes twins to assemble another string of surprises this season. Foremost among them are the best
20-game record since 1940, the program's highest AP ranking in six years and a win over the highest-ranked opponent in UGA history.
