The top athlete has already trimmed his list of favorites down to three, and all three schools will have a tough battle in landing Zachery's signature.
"My top three are Alabama, Auburn, and Georgia. They are all equal. I like Auburn because it's close to home. I like Alabama because I have been an Alabama fan my whole life. Georgia is the school where I have always dreamed of playing."
After a superb junior campaign, Zachery is ready for a state championship run for his senior year. Last season, Wadley fell to the Class 1A runner up, R.A. Hubbard.
"We went 13-1. We lost in the semi-finals. We lose five starters that were really good, but we should be able to replace them. I had 53 catches for 1,400 yards. I was named 1st team All-State, and All-Area Player of the Year," said Zachery.
While Zachery is electrifying on the field, he plans to spend more time in the weight room during the off-season.
"I feel like I have very good speed, hands, and vision. I would really like to improve my strength before my senior season."
Alabama is expecting a large crowd in Tuscaloosa for Junior Day this weekend, and Zachery is one of the blue chippers expected to attend.
"I am going to Alabama's Junior Day this weekend. I am looking forward to it."
It is almost a year away before Zachery has to make a college choice, but he knows what he will consider in his decision.
"I will try to find the school where I will get the most playing time,
and possibly start early. I want to go somewhere I will feel the most
comfortable," said Zachery.
Scott Kennedy Scout Report:
A fluid athlete that has self scouted very well. Zachery plays wide receiver, running back, and safety for Wadley, and he runs extremely well, but as he noted in what he would like to improve on, he needs to get strong and more physical. He is solid with the ball in his hands, but struggles going up in traffic for the ball. He has good size and speed, and knows what he needs to do to reach the next level. He has excellent cover skills, and it wouldn't be a shock to see him at corner should he be needed there.
Zachery did a little bit of everything in a win against South Laney last season, as he did all season. He opened and closed the game with an interception, and in between, he kept the field stretched horizontally by runs and quick catches to the outside.
