ATHENS - Two members of the University of Georgia football coaching staff have assumed additional titles and duties related to the administration of the football program according to UGA head coach Mark Richt.

Assistant head coach John Eason has assumed the title of Associate Head Coach and will also continue to coach the Bulldog wide receivers.

Rodney Garner has assumed the title of Assistant Head Coach and will retain his duties as recruiting coordinator and defensive line coach.

Eason has been responsible for a number of administrative duties and will retain most of those in addition to assuming new responsibilities.

Among his responsibilities are serving as the primary liaison with the academic program of the student-athletes and formation of the football team's daily schedules throughout the year.

Garner's duties will include serving as the primary liaison with other units within the Athletic Association as well as those on the University campus. Garner will serve as the liaison with the Athletic Association compliance program, campus relations, as well as perform other key administrative duties.

"I'm extremely excited about this football staff," said Richt. "They have done a fantastic job of leading our young men over the last four seasons in a first class manner. I believe the chemistry of this group, which includes our two new staff members, is outstanding. I'm confident they will continue to do a great job of working together toward attaining the goals we set for our program every year."
