Georgia DT Likes SEC/ACC

Lovejoy High School is one of the top programs in the state of Georgia and is always a place where some of the top talent in the state can be found. Defensive Tackle/Offensive Lineman Gabe Crews will continue the tradition of talented big men this year for the Wildcats.

At 6-2 and 290 pounds, Gabe Crews has excellent mobility as shown by the 5.21 forty he posted at an NFL style of testing at the Kennedy/CES Combine last month. Crews projects as an academic qualifier and has heard from several schools this year already.

"I've gotten letters from Georgia, Notre Dame, LSU, Baylor, Duke, UCF, Army, and Georgia Tech," said Crews. "I want to play somewhere in the SEC or ACC. My cousin Jada Brown just signed with Ole Miss."

From his interior line position, Crews registered 42 tackles and six sacks last year, and he is looking forward to topping those numbers this year.

"I compare my game to Darnell Dockett. Darnell gets after it. His motor is always running, and he has great technique."

While the conference affiliation won't play a factor for Crews, distance looks like it could.

"I know I'd like to stay close to home."

Crews reports a 365 pound bench press and a 475 pound squat. He competes in track in the shot put and discus. Crews doesn't have any scholarship offers yet, but that situation won't last long.
