In-State Leader For The "Bean"

Justin Anderson is absolutely one of the top offensive linemen in the south and an early candidate for All-South honors. He names a top 5 with an early in-state favorite.

"I like Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Nebraska and Florida," Justin Anderson said.

The in-state Bulldogs hold an early lead.

"Georgia is my favorite school. I've just always liked them. I watch them on TV a lot. I like David Pollack and he just drew me to them even more from seeing him play."

What stands out about the other teams on his list?

Georgia Tech: "I just like to watch them play and they've offered me a scholarship."

Florida State: "I like the players you know. The school system they've got."

Nebraska: "They called me today and talked to me at school and that kind of drew me to them. Their offensive coordinator said he liked my tape. I got their offer in the mail when I got home."

Florida: "I talked to their offensive coordinator at school today too. They said they like my tape and everything also. He said I should be getting something in the mail soon."

Anderson is looking for a few specific things in a school?

"Education and just to have better options when I get older. I'd like to major in something with technology. I like technology an awful lot. I also want a school that helps me get to the NFL."

Did Justin attend any games last fall?

"I only went to one game last year and that was Georgia and Georgia Tech. I loved the Dawg Walk. Some fans that I didn't know even knew my name and stuff. The campus is also real big and really nice."

What are his goals for the coming year?

"My goal is to have the best season I've ever had. I want to make All-State for the 3rd year in a row."

How would he handicap his abilities?

"I need to work on my passing blocking a little bit. I can use a little more work on it. Run blocking I'd say I'm pretty good at it. I fire off the ball faster than most of the guys of the guys out there.

Any camp plans for the Ocilla star?

"I've been going to the "Down and Dirty Camp" in Florida the past few years. I don't know which ones I'll go to this year yet."

As Justin mentioned, he's an absolutely ferocious run blocker who can man up on a defensive lineman and overpower him, or use his quickness to progress to the 2nd level and take out a linebacker. He currently holds 2 offers and he'll definitely be picking up many more than that as we progress into 2006.
