Big OL Emerges in Georgia

We've been saying since signing day that it is a deep year for offensive linemen in the south, and they just keep coming out of the wood work, or out of Woodland as the case may be with 6-6 and 285 pound John Miller of Cartersville, Ga. Miller has already picked up one offer, and things are just starting to heat up.

"John Miller has an offer from Georgia Tech already," said Woodland Head Coach Todd Simpson. "The last time I spoke with Coach Bobo at Georgia, he said that they would probably end up offering him too. He's been to Alabama already, and he's going up to Georgia next weekend I believe. He's going to try and visit Auburn too. He'd really like to stay close to home in the SEC/ACC, something like that."

Miller's first season of varsity football was last year, and while he is not a refined blocker, he certainly shows all of the tools. He is light on his feet and not afraid of contact. He is quick and has the ideal frame for an offensive tackle.

"He's just 16 years old right now," added Simpson. "He's going to get a lot better, and I think you'll see him make even more strides as a senior."

Miller's accomplishments off the field are equally impressive.

"He's on track to be an Eagle Scout, and I know that's very important to him. He's in to scouting and the outdoors. I think he wants to be in some sort of Environmental Engineering in college. He's just a great kid."

And he has a lot of potential as you can see in this presentation by ScoutTV* as Woodland takes on Hiram. Left Tackle John Miller shows improvement during the game itself as some of his best blocks come in the fourth quarter. He has a world of potential. He has picked up one offer already, but that's just the beginning for Miller.
