South Carolina DB Talks Junior Day

Marcus Jackson is a hard hitting safety prospect from South Carolina that made his way over to Georgia for the Bulldogs' Junior Day. What were his impressions of Athens?

"I went to Georgia for Junior Day on Saturday," said Marcus Jackson, teammates last year with Georgia signee C.J. Byrd. "I got to talk with Coach Fabris, and Coach Martinez talked with me about their defensive scheme and how I'd fit in. I didn't get to talk with Coach Richt, but I got to sit in on a position meeting and got to talk with Greg Blue and Tim Jennings there."

Jackson was already familiar with Athens as this was not his first trip to Georgia.

"I've been to several home games, so I'm familiar with the facilities. I haven't been to any other spring practices or junior days."

Jackson doesn't have any scholarship offers yet, but who is showing him the most interest?

"Michigan, South Carolina, Vanderbilt, and Virginia Tech are sending me hand written letters. Vanderbilt seems to be recruiting me the hardest. They send me one or more hand written letters a week. My Top 5 right now though is Auburn, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia, and South Carolina. I'll be going to South Carolina's spring game in a couple of weeks."

What will help Jackson make up his mind when the time comes?

"I'm looking at a school that will give me a great education, and a program that wins."
