Dave Odom, South Carolina: "Right now our team is looking forward to playing LSU. Every game this time of year is the most important game your team is playing. This game is important for both teams because we are both trying to get to postseason and be considered for something. Both teams are playing good defense and points are coming hard for both teams, but that's typical for this conference at this time of year. Postseason play looms large for some teams and our Gamecock team is struggling to keep our heads above water. We need our best effort and I know LSU will give their best effort, so it should be a very tight game."
Billy Donovan, Florida: "We are playing against Auburn who is a team that can shoot the ball and has two explosive scorers. Every game in this league you have to be prepared and ready to play and we realize we are going to have to be ready Wednesday night to play Auburn. The league over the last three or four years has got the exposure it deserves and I think the league overall is the best in the country."
Jim Harrick, Georgia: Not available for the teleconference
Tubby Smith, Kentucky: "We are struggling to put points on the board and we didn't shoot well against Georgia. We've had some distractions and those things have caused us not to concentrate on basketball which was one of the concerns I had. We have to contain (Vincent) Yarbrough and (Marcus) Haislip and we will have to do a good job defensively against Tennessee. We had to suspend two players and I don't think I have ever had more off-court distractions than I have had this year and all that does is distract from playing basketball."
Ron Aldy, Ole Miss Women's Coach: "We are coming off a tough road trip and now we have to get home and prepare for Tennessee who is leading our league. It will be an extremely tough challenge and one which we will be hoping for the upset."
Buzz Peterson, Tennessee: "Seemed like we played Kentucky just yesterday and we felt very fortunate to get that win against them last time out. Knowing Tubby Smith, he will have his team ready to play and looking for revenge. We have some tough teams left on our schedule and we are hoping to sneak one of these games out. Kentucky plays very good in Rupp Arena so we are looking forward to a good game."
Kevin Stallings, Vanderbilt: Not available for the teleconference
John Brady, LSU: "Our team is feeling pretty good because we've been able to win a couple of league games. To go into Arkansas and play the way we played was good for us. We just stayed with what we've been doing and the last couple of games went our way. I think Dave Odom has done a good job at South Carolina and they have done good with holding teams below there normal scoring average."
Mark Gottfried, Alabama: "I don't know if it's ever an easy thing to do to go to Bud Walton Arena to play Arkansas. Our players know this will be a tough game. We have played well as of late, but we are still far away from where we want to be, so we have a lot of work we need to do."
Andy Landers, Georgia Women's Coach: "We are a young basketball team which has struggled somewhat since we've entered SEC play. Even though we struggled, we have been close in a lot of conference games. In the past two weeks, we have probably played our best basketball and I feel our team has turned the corner and we are playing well coming down the stretch."
Eric Bozeman, (Asst. Coach) Ole Miss: "It's been a long SEC season and we are a little banged up and tired, so the off week comes at the right time. We are fortunate getting the off week after beating a very good Florida team."
Cliff Ellis, Auburn: "We know going to Florida is one of the toughest games of the year for anybody. Their crowd gets into the game, they shoot well and play extremely well. They are coming off of a loss and all of that adds up to one of our toughest games this year. We have to make sure to take care of the ball and get back on defense."
Rick Stansbury, Mississippi State: "Vanderbilt is a very good basketball team which is coming off a difficult loss against South Carolina. Vanderbilt's home court is a very difficult place to play and we are going to have to play well to win. We've played well on the road, we just couldn't close games out down the stretch, couldn't hit free throws or couldn't close a game out. Those are things you cannot do on the road if you expect to win in this league."
Nolan Richardson, Arkansas: "Alabama is one of the best teams in the league and they are going to be very tough to beat. We haven't been able to play as well at home and it's not going to be any different playing the best team in the conference. We are a perimeter basketball team and we have not been making jump shots. That makes it very difficult to be an effective basketball team."
