Two Team Race for OL

Kevin Perez is yet another big time lineman in what is a deep year for OL's in the deep south. He already holds a handful of offers including pledges from some of the top programs in the region. Who does he like right now?

"The top three offers I have are Georgia, Auburn and Tennessee. The schools I really like the most are Auburn and Georgia though. Miami is still on there but they're falling off because I haven't heard from them," Kevin Perez said

One team has a narrow lead at this juncture.

"Georgia is a slight leader but that's only because I saw their campus and I like their staff. I'm going to visit Auburn with an open mind though."

What does Perez like about the coaches at his top two choices?

"I talk to Coach Gran and Coach Nall at Auburn a good bit. They had a great season and have a great program and they told me they would keep running the ball the same way they always have. I like that about them."

"I talk to Coach Martinez and Coach Calloway from Georgia. I like my opportunity a little better there than Auburn as well. They've only taken 3 OL's in the last 2 years and I get along with their staff. They'll only have like 3 seniors and 3 juniors when I get there also, so that looks good."

The south Florida standout has already visited Athens and will trip to the Plains in the next 3 weeks.

"I'm waiting to go on an Auburn visit before their camp. I can't participate because I have to have surgery on my nose right before then and that was unfortunate. My chin strap popped off and the forehead pad came down and broke my nose."

A decision is likely to be made very soon after he returns home from AU.

"I plan to make a decision soon after I trip to Auburn on June 10th. I'll let everyone know right after that."
