Pennsylvania Prospect Looking South

Jared Odrick is one of the better big athletes in the northeast for the class of '06 and the Pennsylvania product is being pursued by schools from coast to coast as well as a few in the deep south. Which programs have made the cut to this point?

"I have about 31 to 35 offers. Right now I like Florida, Penn State, USC, Georgia, LSU, Syracuse, Michigan State, Minnesota and Virginia. All of those schools have offered except USC but I'm looking for that to come in pretty soon," Jared Odrick said.

What has landed SEC powerhouses like Florida, Georgia and LSU on his list?

"So far I just like what they say position wise and as far as the coaches go. The south is where it's at right now. They send a lot of players to the pros and I'm definitely interested in coming down there."

"With Florida, I like Coach Meyer and Coach Mattison. I think I fit in well to their program and what they do with the defensive line."

"Georgia said they need 3 defensive ends and they already have 1 committed. They have great tradition and I like talking to the coaches.

"LSU is a top program and it wouldn't be a bad situation going down there either."

Does Odrick have any early camp plans?

"We should be figuring out camps here in a few weeks. I've been thinking about camping at Georgia but the details of that still have to be sorted out. I don't know about any others than that."

What will he base his decision upon?

"I just want to come in and fit in right away. Fit in on the depth chart and feel comfortable in there."

Does he have a timetable for a decision at this time?

"Within the next few weeks I'll be narrowing things down hopefully. I'll announce a top 5 soon."

Will any SEC schools make the cut? Stay tuned to to find out.
