GA TE/OL Gets Georgia Offer

Chris Davis is a name we haven't talked a whole lot about thus far in the class of 2006, but the Georgia Bulldogs took a good look at him at the Combine in Tampa and obviously thought enough of him to extend an offer.

"I got an offer from Georgia. I'll probably commit sometime soon but I'm going to make it a surprise. I don't want anyone to know," Chris Davis said.

How did Davis receive the good news?

"Coach Jancek was the one who offered me. They called my coach looking for me and then they called my dad. After that he called me and said he wanted to let me know they had a spot for me. I was surprised because to that point I'd only received one letter from them total."

What position has the Jefferson standout been told he would play if he comes to Athens?

"They said they would give me a shot at tight end, but if I grow out of it that I would play offensive line."

Chris is an intriguing baseball prospect with a 90MPH heater as just a high school junior, but he thinks his future is on the gridiron.

"More than likely I'm going to play football. I told the coaches I'd really like to play at Georgia but I had to talk to my family. Were all bulldogs around here though."

Might a commitment be just around the corner? Stay tuned to to find out…
