40 Football Players Earn GPA's of 3.0 Or Better

Three boasted a perfect 4.0 GPA

ATHENS, Ga. - Forty members of the 2001 Georgia football team earned grade point averages of 3.0 or better for the fall semester, including three who boasted a perfect 4.0.

Linemen Ben Lowe (The Rock, Ga.) and Jake Hooten (Columbus, Ga.) and fullback Jeremy Thomas (Loganville, Ga.) topped the Bulldogs as each maintained a 4.0 GPA during the fall semester.

Lineman Jon Stinchcomb (Lilburn, Ga.) was next at 3.75, followed by defensive back Ryan Davis (Columbus, Ga.) at 3.73, linebacker Robert Mayer (Memphis, Tenn.) at 3.57 and lineman William Koehler (Alpharetta, Ga.) at 3.54.

Rounding out the Top 10 for the Bulldogs with 3.50 GPAs were defensive end Robert Geathers (Georgetown, S.C.), lineman Randall Kendrick (Ashburn, Ga.), kicker Brett Kirouac (Duluth, Ga.) and tailback Patrick Croffie (Athens, Ga.).

The Bulldogs' "honorable mention" selections were tight end Ben Watson (Rock Hill, S.C.) at 3.45, punter Adam Johnson (Lilburn, Ga.) at 3.40 and fullback Jason Laney (Fayetteville, Ga.) at 3.33.
