DT Names New Leaders

Reggie Odom is one of the most active interior defensive linemen available in the south for the class of 2006 and he's compiled a lengthy offer list to his credit already. Just how many has he tallied up and who looks to be in the best position to sign him at this juncture?

"I have 17 or 18 offers right now. My favorite schools are Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville and Maryland. I'm still picking and choosing the top 5 or 10 but I'm pretty sure that Auburn, Georgia and probably Louisville will be in there at the end," Reggie Odom said.

Still conspicuously absent from his scholarship total however, is a pledge from one of the big three instate programs in the Sunshine State.

"I still haven't gotten an offer from any of the instate programs but they all really show very heavy interest. They come out to our practices and jamborees. They just all tell me that they'll offer late in the season."

What does Odom like about his top 6 schools?

Louisville: "They really stand out because they were the first to offer me a scholarship."

Auburn: "You get a lot of NFL attention there. They have a winning tradition and I like the coaching staff."

Georgia: "I like the team, the school and the coaching staff they have up there."

Tennessee: "When I shook the coaches hand I saw that big championship ring and I like that. They have a good team."

Georgia Tech: "I don't really know too much about them but I know they have a real good coaching staff and a pretty nice program also."

Maryland: "They were my second offer and their facilities are real nice. They have a lot of stuff to offer."

Which campuses will Odom take a look at this off season?

"I haven't camped anywhere yet but I'm still debating if I may go to 1 or 2. I have an unofficial visit scheduled to Florida on the 22nd.
