"I've gotten offers from Georgia, Florida, Penn State, North Carolina, Virginia, UConn, Louisville, Maryland, Minnesota, Boston College, and Michigan State so far," said Tom McEowen. I'm not going to any camps this summer, but I am going to take several unofficial visits."
Which schools will the East
Hot 100 defensive tackle see this summer?
"I've already been to Penn State back in June. I had the privilege to talk
with Coach Paterno and Coach Johnson. They were telling me that I am the kind of
player they need to get back to winning. I'm planning on going back there in
McEowen will also head South for the Summer.
"Also at the end of July, I plan on making unofficial visits to Florida,
Georgia, and Possibly North Carolina. I really like what Coach Mattison and
Coach Meyer are telling me when I talk to them about Florida. I really enjoyed
talking with Coach Garner about Georgia when he came to see me in May. I also
like Maryland. I like where Coach Friedgen has the program headed."
Any leaders amongst that group?
"Right now Penn State has a slight lead over Florida, followed by Georgia
and Maryland. I really like talking with the coaches at Penn State, and I know a
ton of people that go over there. I call Coach McQueary at least once a week to
chat. I've called Coach Mattison at Florida several times too."
Schools from across the region are after him, but Penn State looks like they
could be awfully hard to beat for McEowen.
