Did Watson Earn a Scholarship?

Dekoda Watson was one of the standout performers this weekend at the University of Georgia's 2005 senior camp. The LB/DE from Aiken, SC was once again un-blockable off the edge in pass rush situations, just as he was at the Scout.com Combine at Duke University earlier this year. Was his performance enough to earn a scholarship offer?

"The coaches are still talking it over. I spoke with Coach Fabris and the linebacker coach. They don't know which position I would play if I went there but they are trying to figure that out," Dekoda Watson said.

What was his favorite part of the camp?

"My favorite part was working with the linebacker's and learning some stuff about the position because I don't know a lot. I also love the campus. I think Georgia is one of the best out there."

Which schools currently comprise his top 5?

"I like Georgia, North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee and Auburn. North Carolina, Kentucky, Newberry and Coastal Carolina have offered me."

What stands out about those programs?

Georgia: "It's a nice campus and they're a winning team. I like how they handle their program."

North Carolina "They get their guys to the NFL and I like that."

Kentucky: "They offered me, but I don't know much about them yet."

Tennessee: "I like what I hear about their atmosphere."

Auburn: "I'm going to check them out when I go to camp there."

Watson will get that chance to check out the Tigers as soon as this weekend.

"The only one I've been to is Georgia so far and I'll be at Auburn this weekend for their camp also."
