Pennsylvania Star Visits the South

Jared Odrick is one of the best players in the Keystone State for the class of '06 and the big man out of Lebanon has been spending quite a few of his recent days down south. Which three southern football powers received visits from Odrick and how would he rate each one?

"I've been to Virginia Tech, Auburn and Georgia over the last couple of weeks. Those are the three schools I went to," Jared Odrick said.

Jared offers the following thoughts on each of those trips.

Virginia Tech: "It went good. I fit in with the players. Coach Beamer is really cool and he's down to earth. I also liked Coach Wiley and the players seemed to really like him also."

Auburn: "I went down there for a basketball camp but it was still good. Just the fact that as soon as I got down there, all the coaches knew me and they hadn't even offered at that time was really nice. They verbally offered me while I was down there though."

Georgia: "That one went really good. With the situation with their depth chart on the defensive line, they really need some players to come in and help. I stayed with Kade Weston all weekend and went out to eat with Kedric Golston and Jeff Owens. The facilities were beautiful and I'd say that they were the best I've seen so far."

How have these recent visits impacted his favorites list?

"Georgia has always been near the top but Virginia Tech moved up. I liked Auburn but I'm not sure they're in my top 7. Right now I like Florida, Penn State, Georgia, Virginia Tech, Virginia, Oklahoma and Minnesota."

Might we expect a decision soon out of the big man?

"I'm not in any hurry to make a decision. I want to feel comfortable and fit in with the coaches and the players. I'd like to take my official visits."

Has he thought about any possible destinations for his official trips?

"I'm not sure if I'll take an official to Penn State because they're in my backyard, but the others aren't out of the question. I could still officially visit Georgia or Virginia Tech even though I've already been there now."
