Diamond Dawgs off to healthy SEC start

Another chance to sweep and SEC opponent should have fans excited about the possibilities of this season's Georgia Baseball team.

Last year it was magical. Georgia won the SEC regular season championship and won their way into the World Series.

This season, the Dawgs have a new head coach, new players in several positions, and no one is picking them to win the SEC.

However, Georgia is off to a strong start, winning two of three games against Arkansas, and then splitting with eighth ranked Wake Forest, and now taking no less than two against Vanderbilt.

Georgia's wins over Wake Forest and Vanderbilt were the first losses at home for both the Demon Deacons and Commodores. Georgia can sweep Vanderbilt with a win today.

"We have to find different ways to win, and we are, and that's important," said Georgia head coach David Perno.

Georgia is currently tied for first in the SEC East with Florida at 4-1. The Gators take on South Carolina later today in Columbia.
