ATHENS - The University of Georgia welcomed 105 student-athletes to campus Thursday as they officially reported in preparation for the start of fall football camp.

ATHENS, Ga. - The University of Georgia welcomed 105 student-athletes to campus Thursday as they officially reported in preparation for the start of fall football camp. "Everybody is accounted for and they look good," said head coach Mark Richt. "Our returning players as well as the true freshmen had a very good summer academically and in the weight room."

The first official day on campus for the team included physicals, freshmen orientation, meetings and dinner. The first practice of fall camp will be Friday, Aug. 5, following the team's first media session of the season.

Georgia will practice in helmets and shorts the first five sessions. The first set of two-a-day practices will be Thursday, Aug. 11 and the morning session will feature the first workout in full pads for the squad.

Classes begin at UGA on Aug. 18. The annual Fans Picture Day will be held Saturday, Aug. 20 at the Woodruff Practice Fields behind the Butts-Mehre building. The Bulldogs open their season at home against Boise State on Sept. 3. Kickoff against the Broncos is slated for 5:30 p.m., and the game will be televised live by ESPN.
