2005 Fall Camp: Day 3 - What he said

ATHENS – What the Bulldogs are said after their rain-filled third day of practice.

"We have no excuses – (dropped passes) are something we are working on." – Junior wide receiver Sean Bailey when asked about his group dropping passes during the last few passes.

"It's been more like pass and drop lately rather than pass and catch." – Head Coach Mark Richt about the wide receivers dropping balls during practice. Richt said the receivers dropped about 14 passes during the first to days of fall camp. Today, Richt said, the team may have had just as many due, in part, because of the rain. "You don't play if you drop the ball," Richt added.

"I had to go through the deluge – but it turned out to be a pretty day." – Richt again, this time talking about the pouring rain the team practiced through. "You've got to play football in the rain," he later added.

"That's been the biggest disappointment of camp so far." – Richt talking about the dropped passes the team has had in its first three days of fall camp.

"When Coach Martinez talks about cornerbacks he uses Tim as an example." – Sophomore safety Kelin Johnson when asked about cornerback Tim Jennings.

"I've got to stop being so hard on myself – but I want to be the best." – Sophomore wide receiver A.J. Bryant on himself. Bryant has worked his way to the back-up spot at wide receiver and is being used in the Dawgs' three-receiver sets.
