#1 Dawgs too strong for State

Match was moved indoors due to weather and only singles were played

STARKVILLE, Miss. --- The top-ranked Georgia men's team won its 14th consecutive match with a 4-0 victory against No. 21 Mississippi State Sunday at McCarthy Gymnasium in Starkville. The match was delayed one hour and 45 minutes due to rain and eventually moved indoors. The two teams played only singles matches with Georgia winning four in a row to clinch the match. The remaining singles matches and doubles matches were not played.

"Just an awesome match," said Georgia head coach Manuel Diaz. "Our guys started late, and we only played on two courts. Our guys did a terrific job staying focused."

Lesley Joseph was the first off the court for Georgia with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 singles against Luiz Carvalho. Matias Boeker gave the Bulldogs their second point of the match with a 6-3, 6-2 decision against No. 10 Romain Ambert at the top singles spot. Brandon Wagner extended the Georgia lead to 3-0 by topping Jerome Le Belicard 6-2, 6-4 in the No. 3 position.

Bo Hodge clinched the victory for the Bulldogs as he posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory against Aymeric Henou at No. 4

"We played possibly one of our most complete matches even though we did not all compete," added Diaz. "Our four guys at the top of the line-up just played some impeccable tennis. I am proud of them."

Georgia will be back in action with three home matches this week. The Bulldogs step out of conference play for a 5 p.m. match against instate foe Georgia State April 3. Georgia will square off against South Carolina April 5 at 5 p.m. before facing Florida at 1 p.m. April 7.

"We have a good streak going, and we have great momentum right now," said Diaz. "We are playing with a lot of confidence. We have three big matches this week, and we can¹t lose sight or focus."
