Georgia S/LB Names His Leader

Darryl Gamble is one of the best athletes in South Georgia this year and the big man from Bainbridge is now ready to name a leader for his signature. Which one of the 5 SEC programs on his list has the advantage?

"I'm looking at pretty much the same schools. Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee. I'd say Georgia is probably my leader right now though," Darryl Gamble said.

Why are home state Dawgs out in front?

"They really show me the most interest and I've been there so I have a feel for the school and the town. Coach Smart went to my high school and Coach Bobo is from down here also and I like that. They say they want to try me out at strong safety and possibly outside linebacker. They said it just depends on how much weight I gain this year. I weigh 225lbs right now."

What is Gamble looking for a school?

"I'm looking at the coaching staff and the past tradition of the schools. I want a good atmosphere and a place that's not too far from home."

How does Darryl predict his team will perform on the field this fall?

"Practice is going good. We have a really good defense this year since we got everybody back. I just want to do the things I did last year and improve a little more. As far as the team the only thing I'm worried about is the offense. If we can score, were going to win."

Gamble does have a preference for position at the next level.

"I'd like to play linebacker. It's just more involved and you're closer to the ball. I can also cover from that position as well. In coverage I know that I can handle a tight end because I can stay with the wide receivers already."
