Blue ready for full pads

ATHENS – Greg Blue spoke with Dean Legge for a short time after Georgia's fifth practice.

Dean Legge: How are things going for you so far in practice?

Greg Blue: Today things were very good. We got off slow, but at the end of the day we were moving real fast.

Legge: That's what coach said – he said that when y'all got to 11-on-11 drills things kind of picked up a bit.

Blue: That's our number one competition drill. You don't want to get beat up or look bad on the cameras (that film Georgia's practice). Everyone goes real hard in 11-on-11 drills.

Are you excited to get your hands on the offense for the first time this fall?

It's going to feel good.

How have you managed to add weight and still remain fast?

Last year I was 220, and I felt kind of heavy. But now my body is used to 220, and I have no problems with it because it feels natural.

How about moving positions to the other safety spot – how has that gone so far? Have there been any real changes for you?

Not really – I'll be down in the box (close to the line of scrimmage) a lot more.

Are you looking forward to that?

Yeah – that means more tackles. I love tackles, so I don't mind making ten or 12 tackles a game.
