Howard getting settled at DE

ATHENS – Marcus Howard spoke with Dean Legge for a short time after Georgia's practice.

Dean Legge: How has camp been so far?

Marcus Howard: So far it's been going well, but today I had a rough time with the heat. It took a toll on my body.

How about moving positions – was that something that you were excited to do?

I was excited, because it is a good opportunity for me to get onto the field. It's a good transition for me, and I get to work with Coach Fabris. He's a good teacher, and he spends a lot of time with me.

How has it been learning the different techniques?

It's been a lot different. I am having to use my hands a lot more to keep the offensive lineman off me. Pass rushing is pretty easy for me, but stopping the run has been the hardest thing for me to deal with.

Do you have any sort of goal going forward in camp?

I am just trying to get better every day – that's my goal. I am still working on my technique.

How do you add more weight?

Just by eating everyday and continuing to workout. I won't workout today because of two-a-days, but I will workout tomorrow.
