Shackleford still fighting for starting spot

ATHENS – Ken Shackleford spoke with Dean Legge for a short time after one of Georgia's fall practices.

Dean Legge: Tell me how things have been going for you so far during camp.

Ken Shackleford: Things are going fine so far, but the first two days were my best days so far – I was rested and ready to go. The last few days I have been a little tired.

How has the tackle rotation been going for you all at tackle?

At the beginning it was a three-tackle rotating – the way it went most of last season – then Michael Turner went down, so I had to start working with the twos.

How about the heat – has that been a lot to deal with?

Oh… yeah. One day last week we did everything we could just to make it. Inman was throwing up sick – I don't think I've ever seen someone that sick. He threw up maybe ten times, and he still made it the whole time. It was real bad, but he stuck it out and made it.

What do you feel like your goals are for the season?

First of all, I would love to get in the starting lineup. I love the three-man rotation; don't get me wrong, but anyone that plays football wants to start.
