Linebacker Keeps Dawgs On Top

LB Danny Carmichael is one of the players that immediately come to mind when you think of guys who really helped themselves with summer camp performances over the past couple of months. He impressed us every time we saw him and he's seen his recruitment really begin to pick up. Danny is still holding at two offers but that won't be the case for long.

"I still have North Carolina and Middle Tennessee State offers. Georgia, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, South Carolina and Clemson are all recruiting me pretty hard but I'd probably say Georgia and Auburn are showing me the most interest now," Danny Carmichael said.

Not coincidentally, Athens and Auburn happen to be two of the three camp destinations (along with MTSU) for Carmichael this summer.

Which schools does he like the most at this time?

"Georgia, Auburn, North Carolina and Clemson are top my schools. Georgia is my favorite school."

Why are the Dawgs on top?

"Just the tradition they've got there. My sister and my mom went there also. This is Dawg country."

Auburn: "They have a beautiful campus. I like the atmosphere down there and I had a few friends that played there."

North Carolina: "It's a good academic school and it has a lot of tradition."

Clemson: "They also have a beautiful campus and they have great tradition too."

Danny is eager to get the season underway after a bye week to open the year.

"Our first game is Friday against our rival Etowah. I just want that W. That's all that matters. I want to win state, region and go to the playoffs also. Just have a great senior year."

The Woodstock star has already set his first official visit.

"September 17th I'm going to North Carolina for my official visit. September 3rd I'm going to Georgia for an unofficial visit when they play Boise State."
