2005 Fall Camp: Day 18 News and notes

ATHENS - News and notes from Georgia's 18th practice day of fall camp.

Southern Cal senior quarterback Matt Leinart got some national attention Friday when it became public knowledge that he is taking just one class this semester, ballroom dancing. However, Georgia fans shouldn't be too quick to judge. Their senior quarterback, D.J. Shockley, is only taking one class this semester as well. Granted, Shockley's course, environmental communication, is a bit more taxing.

UPON FURTHER REVIEW: After watching the film of Thursday's scrimmage, Richt realized that Tony Taylor had two interceptions instead of just one and Quentin Moses had two sacks instead of one.

Also, "Charles Johnson did pick up his play some," Richt said.

Tra Battle had an interception in Friday's practice session.

INJURY UPDATE: Tailback Thomas Brown wore a small cast on his right wrist Friday, but the injury is not major. There are no broken bones, Richt said.

The cast "will be gone before the game," Brown said.

Offensive lineman Josh Brock (concussion), a guard, Michael Turner (shoulder), a tackle, and linebacker Dannell Ellerbe (shoulder) remain sidelined by injury. Ellerbe could be back Monday, Richt said. The other two probably will be out longer.
