Broncos have deceptive speed

ATHENS - The Broncos' players must not look too fast on the game film Georgia is watching in preparation for this game because the Bulldog coaches are going out of their way to talk up the opponent's speed.

"When you talk to people who have played them, they all say, ‘They're much faster than they look on tape,'" defensive line coach Rodney Garner said.

The Bulldogs have gotten some advice from the Oregon State coaching staff. Boise State beat the Beavers 63-34 in the second game of the season last year.

"They said, ‘Don't underestimate their speed,'" Richt said. "They said, ‘They are as fast as anybody in the Pac-10.'"

Georgia's players are taking a wait-and-see approach.

"I'll tell you after the game if they were fast," cornerback DeMario Minter said.

The apparently deceptive speed isn't the only tough thing about scouting Boise State film. The Broncos' blue-turfed home field and blue uniforms make them hard to see, running back Thomas Brown said.

"They blend in," Brown said, "but we have enough film of them somewhere other than their place."
