Dawgs Rolling Off Field Too

Georgia continues its march towards an early finish in recruiting with another South Hot 100 pick up on Saturday. Asher Allen game Georgia two of the Top 5 cornerback prospects in the south when he made a verbal commitment to the Dawgs.

Georgia wasted little time jumping on Boise State Saturday afternoon in the same fashion that they have wasted little time in amassing what is going to be finish as one of the top recruiting classes in the country.

Asher Allen made a commitment to Georgia on Saturday morning to kick off what turned out to be a very profitable day for Georgia. Allen is a running back/defensive back from Bulldog Stronghold Tucker High School. He is a member of the South Hot 100 as the #4 ranked cornerback in the South.

Taking a closer look at the South Hot 100, shows that even that lofty ranking is a bit misleading. Two of the players listed just ahead of him are from the state of Florida. Tony Wilson of Mainland High School and Jacques Rickerson of St. Augustine High School are also in the Top 5. Wilson is a Georgia commitment already, but he is likely slated for wide receiver, and Rickerson has suffered a severe injury to start the season making Allen the #2 ranked corner in the south.

Allen makes it public commitment #17 for Georgia, and he likely closes the book on cornerback recruiting. Georgia got commitments from its top two targets at the position in Allen and Prince Miller of Byrnes High School. Allen is an excellent student and plans to enroll early at Georgia to be eligible to participate in spring practice.

Allen separated his shoulder in practice two weeks ago, but he plans on being back on the field against arch-rival Marist on September 16th.
