Georgia CB Visits the Dawgs

South Georgia prospect David Pender is one of the more active cornerbacks in the state this year. He makes plays all over the field and that hard work has paid off with plenty attention from the recruiters. He fills us in on who's been calling him since September, and which offers he has to this point.

"I've gotten phone calls from South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Western Michigan, Illinois and Purdue. I'd say Illinois has been calling me the most. I still have offers from Illinois, Wake Forest, Purdue and Ball State," David Pender said.

Who does he like the most at this time?

"I like Wake Forest, Tennessee and Georgia the most. I don't really have a leader."

What stands out about each of those 3 schools?

Wake Forest: "If I go out of state it will be somewhere in the south and they've offered me."

Tennessee: "They have a pretty good football team as well as track team."

Georgia: "I like just about everything about Georgia."

David has already attended one college game this season.

"I went up there for the South Carolina game and I just liked the way they treated us. I loved the Dawg walk. I didn't know that many people knew about me and Justin (Williams). They told us they wanted us to come play for them and all of that."

Pender also spoke to the coaches in Athens.

"I talked to Coach Smart when I was up there. He was just telling me to take the SAT and to just keep gaining weight. I'm up to 170lbs now and I played at 155lbs last year."
