In-State Battle for Peach State WR

Demaryius Thomas is one of the top wide receivers still on the board this year in the state of Georgia. He recently picked up an offer from the in-state Georgia Bulldogs and he talks about it right here with Scout.com.

"I went to Coach Richt's office and he offered me there. I went up there for the South Carolina game. I really liked it. I loved the Dawg Walk and all the people telling me to come to Georgia. I really like the facilities and stuff also. I liked the weight room a lot too," Demaryius Thomas said.

Thomas now lists the Dawgs and the Yellow Jackets at the top of his list.

"I'm looking at Georgia and Georgia Tech the most right now."

What stands out about each of those rivals to Thomas?

Georgia: "I just like them a lot. I really like Greg Blue a lot too."

Georgia Tech: "I like Calvin Johnson a lot."

Does one school hold an advantage over the other at the current time?

"I don't really have a leader yet but I do talk to Georgia Tech more than Georgia right now. I talk to Coach Gif Smith a lot."

What will he base his decision on when it comes time to commit?

"I don't want to be in any big classes but they told me I would have some tutors. I want to play early too. My first year hopefully."

The central GA standout is off to a great start this season.

"I have 26 catches for 300 something yards and 3 touchdowns."

West Laurens takes on unbeaten Dodge County this Friday night.
