Dawgs Making a Run at Offensive Tackle

Ole Miss picked up a big commitment from Terrytown, MS offensive lineman Josh Davis back in March. Since that time however he's opened up his recruitment a little bit and many teams are trying their best to take him away from the Rebels. What's the status of his commitment at this time?

"I'm still committed to Ole Miss but I'm looking around a little bit at schools like Georgia, Maryland, Ohio, LSU, Nebraska, Florida State, Mississippi State and Southern Miss. I've got offers from Georgia, Maryland and Nebraska right now," Josh Davis said.

There are 3 top contenders for his signature in addition to Ole Miss. Who are they and why have they made his list?

"It's really Georgia, Maryland and Mississippi State right now."

Georgia: "They're a strong team. I think they would make me a better player."

Maryland: "I think I could go there and play."

Mississippi State: "I really like the atmosphere there."

What does Davis like most about Ole Miss at the current time?

"I just really like Coach O a lot. That's why I'm still committed."

The recruiters have been on him early and often since the contact period began in September.

"I've gotten calls from Maryland, Coach O at Ole Miss, Mississippi State, LSU, Coach Callaway at Georgia…I'd say Georgia, Ole Miss, LSU and Maryland are really recruiting me the hardest."

Davis has yet to set any visits but he has a few dates in mind.

"I haven't really set them yet but I'm going to Georgia and Maryland in December. I'm not sure about when my Ole Miss visit will be yet."
