Southern Football Predictions

Dean Legge makes his weekly picks for the 23 schools in the South.

1. Virginia Tech –Virginia Tech looks the best in the South

2. Alabama – Clearly the team to beat in the SEC

3. Tennessee – Looked "ok" against Rebels; this week is the season vs. Georgia

4. Florida State – Still undefeated, but not the best in the ACC

5. Georgia – Dawgs can live, and still win the East if they lose this weekend, but a great team would knock the Vols off in Knoxville

6. Miami – Easy game against Duke this week – Canes just waiting for schedule to pick back up

7. LSU – Should roll over Vandy

8. Florida – Beating at the hands of Bama the worst since last seasons' debacle in Starkville; at least we know this year's Bama team will win more than three games. What do we know about this Florida team?

9. Auburn – South Carolina is horrible, but a win is a win

10. Georgia Tech – Hurting from Virginia Tech loss; should win easy against NC State

11. Wake Forest – Two wins in three seasons over Clemson

12. Maryland – Win over Virginia may have put season back on track

13. Arkansas – Easy game this week

14. North Carolina – I didn't see the win over Utah coming – good win for Heels

15. Ole Miss – Difficult loss to Vols; but played ok

16. Virginia – Exposed

17. Mississippi State – Looked decent during the first quarter

18. Vandy – Bowl teams don't lose to Middle Tennessee

19. South Carolina – This is looking ugly; what was Steve thinking?

20. Kentucky – Winnable game in Columbia this weekend

21. Clemson – I am tired of your back and forth ways, Topsy turvy Tigers; real programs beat Wake Forest

22. Duke – Will get killed by Miami

23. North Carolina State – The worst team in the South; followed very closely by Clemson and Vandy after last weekend's games
