Battle gets ready - if needed

ATHENS – Roderick Battle spoke with Dean Legge for a short time after one of Georgia's fall practices.

Dean Legge: How is this season going for you so far?

Roderick Battle: Things are going alright. I am working on my technique, and I'm trying to become a better player.

Considering the injuries lately, you may or may not play this season – how is that going?

I don't know. I am just trying to get better so that when I do get to play-whenever that is, I'll be ready.

Have the coaches discussed that with you at all?

They haven't said much about it. I see it, but they haven't said much about it to me.

What exactly have you been working on?

I am trying to work on my technique. I am trying to adjust to college life – everything, really.

Is there one specific thing they are telling you to work on?

My get-off and pad level. I think in high school I developed bad habits…stuff like my first step and my hands.

What did you think about the win over Tennessee?

I thought we played well on both sides of the ball and special teams.

Did y'all all get together in Athens, or what?

We got together and we watched it.

What did you do when Thomas took it to the house?

We all jumped up – we were very excited.
