LB Will Visit Dawgs in 2 Weeks

LB Danny Carmichael is one of the better linebackers still left on the board in the state of Georgia at this juncture in the recruiting process. Last weekend he tripped north to attend the big inter-division battle between the Vols and the Dawgs. What did he think of his trip to Knoxville?

"Coach Caldwell called and invited me up. They told me I was a gold-star recruit, which is one of their top recruits. They rank their prospects by the color of the stars. They haven't offered yet but they have a bye-week this week and they are going to evaluate me more and maybe come to one of my games," Danny Carmichael said.

As mentioned above, Tennessee has turned up the heat on Danny and he had a great time at the game.

"The atmosphere is crazy. That was the loudest football game I've ever been to. The facilities look good. They're getting that new 36,000 square foot weight room and everything looks nice. It's just a beautiful place."

Three teams stand out to Carmichael right now.

"My top 3 is Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina. I'd say UNC still leads."

Why are the Heels on top?

"It's a great college town. Everything is so beautiful up there. I like the coaches and I really just like North Carolina period."

Danny talks about why he likes the two eastern division rivals.

Tennessee: "I like their fans and their stadium. It has a great atmosphere."

Georgia: "It runs in the family with everybody going to Georgia. Athens is a nice college town. I like Coach Bobo and all the coaches there."

The Woodstock star will be in Athens in two weeks.

"Georgia wrote me a hand written letter inviting me to the Arkansas/Georgia game in 2 weeks. I plan on going over there."

Carmichael had a good game last week.

"Last week I had 8 solos, 3 assists and 2 quarterback pressures. I also had 10 rushes for 65yds."
