Arkansas Week: Tuesday Practice Report

ATHENS - The No. 4-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (6-0, 4-0) went through a two-and-a-half hour practice in full pads on Tuesday afternoon as they continue to prepare for their SEC matchup on Saturday against Arkansas (2-4, 0-3).

The Bulldogs benefited from the return of wide receivers Mario Raley and A.J. Bryant, who missed the last two games due to injury. On the defensive front, linemen Dale Dixson, Darrius Swain, Marquis Elmore and Jeff Owens are competing for a starting spot opposite Ray Gant.

"We had good effort today," head coach Mark Richt said. "We got a couple of receivers back and that helped. They got a little taste of the action. Dixson, Swain, 'Mudcat' and Owens are getting the chance to compete for a starting position, and I'm sure that helped their excitement level."

Richt discussed Saturday's matchup earlier in the afternoon at the Bulldogs' weekly press session.

³I think Arkansas will be a great challenge for us," Richt said. "They played Auburn extremely well and it was a lot closer game than the score would suggest. Alabama also went right down to the wire with them. They are probably the fastest team we will play all year.²
