Scout's #1 DT Named Army All-American

Micah Johnson is's #1 defensive tackle prospect in the entire country, although he might not end up at that position in college. What is no longer in question though, is whether or not he will be a member of the U.S. Army All-American team. That question was answered today as Johnson was selected to the East Squad at his high school.

The classic East vs. West match-up will be played and televised live on NBC January 7th at 1:00 p.m. (EST) and will feature the top 78 prep football student-athletes in the country. is a member of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection committee, and Micah Johnson of Fort Campbell High School in Kentucky was selected because he is the most athletic big man in the nation.

At 6-2 and 270 pounds, Johnson has the speed to be a middle linebacker and running back on his team. With his size, he projects as a defensive lineman on the college level, but it's not out of the question to see him stay at middle linebacker or running back on the college level. Colleges recruiting Johnson have told him he could play either position.

Johnson was a standout at the U.S. Army Combine in January. He is the son of an Army man at Fort Campbell, and Johnson will represent the East squad, his high school, his father, and his country with pride on January 7th, 2006.
