Alabama-native Adams readies for Auburn

ATHENS – Chester Adams spoke with Dean Legge for a short time after one of Georgia's fall practices.

Dean Legge: How has the season been so far for you?

Chester Adams: It's going pretty good. I haven't gotten the playing time I was hoping for, but I am glad we are winning so it doesn't make that much difference to me.

How important is this game? Obviously if y'all win this game you virtually win the SEC East.

We are just trying to keep our mind focused on the game, and try to keep the outside stuff out. We are going to focus on the things at hand.

What about being from Alabama and playing Auburn – is that special to you?

It really is. I've got a lot of friends at Auburn; there were a lot of people that were recruited with me that went there. It's going to be special to play Auburn, and it would be special to play Alabama.

Obviously y'all would love to play Alabama. What about the mood with a week off. Does it seem like things are a little lighter up there? I know its disappointing losing to Florida.

During the off week, we went hard at the start of the week and then we kind of slack off at the end to try to get our legs back underneath us.

Do you ever look back and say: "Gosh, I wish I would have redshirted"

No – I really don't. I think this experience has been really good for me: getting used to the away atmosphere, and getting used to reading defenses, and learning from one of the best players in the country in Max Jean-Gilles.
