Ready For Recruiting

Reshad Jones is one of the top safety prospects in the country. The hard hitting safety from Atlanta is ready to tackle recruiting now that his senior football season is over.

Atlanta (Ga.) Booker T. Washington safety Reshad Jones is now focused on recruiting after his team was knocked out of the playoffs this past Friday against North Forsyth (21-17). Six schools have made the cut and his first visit is lined up for mid-December.

"I will visit Miami on December 16th," said Jones. "It's the only visit I have set up thus far. The bottom line is that Miami just produces great players year in and year out. They also have a winning tradition. Did you see them on Saturday?"

Jones, 6-2 and 180 pounds, is a four-star safety and the No. 11 rated player at that position according to He also likes Georgia, LSU, Florida, Michigan, and Oklahoma.

"Georgia is close by, they have a great program and I love the coaching staff. I don't think I will take an official visit there because it is so close.

"LSU is a school I know I can play early at. They need safeties. The program is terrific and I love the coaching staff.

"Oklahoma is a place I have got to check out. My former teammate is there, Duke (Robinson) and he tells me great things about that place.

"Florida is one of the teams recruiting me the hardest. I like their style, their defense and they need safeties too. Same with Michigan. They are really recruiting me hard as well.

"All six have offered me a scholarship and at this point I am just open."

Jones recorded 70 tackles and two interceptions as a senior. Also scored 15 touchdowns on offense playing running back, wide receiver and tight end.
