Southern Recruit Rankings - The Safeties

All week - South will be updating the rankings for the southern players. The states included are Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas. This is a look at the Top Safeties in the South.

Wide Receivers
Running Backs
Tight Ends
Offensive Line

Defensive Ends

Versatility is the key to the safety position. Many of the best safeties on the college level didn't play safety in high school, and many of the best safeties in high school grow into linebackers.

Taking a look at the top athletes in the country, it's easy to project many of them as standout safeties, but it's almost as easy to see them at other positions. Jamar Hornsby could be a wide receiver, Allen Walker a linebacker, D'Vontrey Richardson a quarterback, Anthony Leon a linebacker, and Mario Fannin a running back.

Watch the scouting videos on the players, and you'll see why each is so highly coveted, and you'll also see why these multi-talented players could end up at several positions on the next level.

Rather than list the players' height, weight, and speed, I have listed the school they are committed to if any. Click on their player page to see more information including scouting videos and schools of interest.

If you have any feedback on the formatting, or questions about the rankings, please come see us on the Scout Recruiting Message Board:
