Georgia "Freight Train" Visits Athens

Danny Carmichael is one of the top linebacker prospects still available in the Peach State for the class of 2006. This past weekend he chose to make the short drive over to Athens to visit the Bulldogs. He came away impressed with what he saw.

"It was nice. I liked it a lot. I loved that Dawg Walk. The Dawg Walk was crazy this time. It was the best Dawg Walk I've ever been to and it was the best college football game I've ever seen in person," Danny Carmichael said.

Carmichael spent a quick moment with two of the Bulldog assistants on the field before the game.

"I talked to Coach Bobo and Coach Jancek. They said they are coming to visit me after December, 1st. They just want me to hold on a little longer to see if they have a spot."

The coaches also invited Danny back this weekend for what could be the SEC-East clincher for the Dawgs.

"They want me to come back for the Kentucky game. They are gonna call me this week and let me know. I'm not sure if it will be an official visit yet or not."

According to the Woodstock standout, the Dawgs have now pulled even with the Heels. What Stands out about each of those programs?

"As far as right now Georgia and North Carolina are my top 2."

North Carolina: "It's a beautiful campus and all that. I like the coaches. They have great athletics all around and good academics all around."

Georgia: "It's a big football school and I love the the Dawg Walk. I grew up on Georgia football."

Carmichael helped lead his HS team to the most successful season in school history.

"We were the first team in school history to make the playoffs. It's good leaving high school knowing that I was a part of the best team to ever play at this school. I finished with 110 solo tackles and 137 total. I also had 2 interceptions, 5 sacks, 13 tackles for loss and 4 forced fumbles."
