Dawgs Take Lead for Florida 4-Star

Georgia's 2006 linebacker class already includes three players ranked 4-stars or better by Scout.com but the Dawgs would like to add to that total before February comes around. The player maybe at the top of their wish list is Chasman Davis from Saint Lucie, FL. He made his official visit to Athens this past weekend and the Dawgs came away as the frontrunner for his signature.

"I liked everything man. I really got hyped when the Dawg Walk and all that came around. It was a good game. I like the coaches and the players too. I think I could fit in there. It was better than my trip to West Virginia. It was a 10," Chasman Davis said.

Chasman had some of his highest remarks for the UGA pre game tradition known as the Dawg Walk.

"It just got me so hyped. If that don't get you up and ready to go then you must be dead. There was a whole lot of people there. I've never seen 92,000 people in the same place before."

Davis also raved about the players in Athens already.

"I was with Donovan Baldwin and Bryan Evans. Everybody just gets along really well up there. Everyone was up front with me and I just pictured myself being there. They gave me their point of view and how they liked it. I got along with all of them."

The Florida LB enjoyed his time out in downtown Athens.

"Man… downtown was tight man. The girls were everywhere. The town is real tight. We went out to the clubs and got our party on a little bit. It was a lot of fun."

Chasman spent some time with the coaching staff before heading back home.

"Coach Richt just seems real honest. He let me know everything with the situation and all that. Coach Jancek, that's my man right there. I really like him a lot. Me and him get along real well."

The visit has earned the Dawgs a spot at the top of his favorites list.

"Georgia is my leader. That's the place I can fit in right now the best at."

Davis will be in Starkville, MS over Thanksgiving and he's trying to decide a destination for his final trip.

"I'm going to visit Mississippi State on Thanksgiving weekend probably. I'll probably take another visit after that and I'm considering North Carolina, Florida State and Florida for that last visit."
