"I don't know yet," said Jancek, who normally is optimistic about injured players. "We've just got to wait and see."
Taylor hurt his knee on the first series of the Auburn game and then played 74 snaps on it after that, Jancek said.
"I love that kid," he said.
If Taylor can't play or start, Jarvis Jackson will move to middle linebacker, Danny Verdun Wheeler will start on the weakside and Brandon Miller will start on the strongside. Miller didn't play against Florida and didn't start against Auburn due to a lingering ankle injury.
"He's just going to have to keep getting better," Jancek said. "He's going to have to (play)."
Georgia has yet to start the same trio of linebackers in three straight games this season due to injuries.
"It's different every week isn't it?" Jancek asked. "I hate it that they can't get in any rhythm."
Safety Tra Battle (concussion) didn't practice and has almost given up on playing.
"It's doubtful," he said. "The rule is usually before you get cleared to play, you have to participate in a contact practice."
The fact that Georgia practiced so early didn't help Battle, who was scheduled to be evaluated by team doctors Wednesday afternoon before a final decision was made.
