LSU Week: Monday Practice Report

ATHENS - The Georgia football team began preparations for Saturday's Southeastern Conference Championship Game with LSU by practicing indoors at the Ramsey Center for approximately 90 minutes on Monday.

Due to rain throughout the day on Monday, the Bulldogs were forced to move their practice session indoors. However, Georgia was able to complete most of its standard Monday helmets-and-shorts routine, practicing all phases of the game on the basketball and volleyball courts.

The Bulldogs are ranked 13th this week after improving to 9-2 with last week's win over Georgia Tech. LSU is No. 3 in the country at 10-1 following its win over Arkansas to clinch the berth in the SEC Championship Game.

"We are very impressed with LSU," Georgia coach Mark Richt said. "While the win over Georgia Tech was exciting, we are now putting all our efforts into the game with LSU. I thought our players were very focused at practice today. There is a lot of pride in playing for your conference championship, and our players and coaches all know how important this week of practice is."

Earlier in the day, punt returner Thomas Flowers was named the SEC Special Teams Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Saturday¹s game in Atlanta in the Georgia Dome will kick off at 6 p.m. and will be televised by CBS.
