5 Star Darius Dewberry is Good to Go

Rance Gillespie, Head Coach of Peach County High School, has his Trojans in the State Finals after beating LaGrange on Saturday. Gillespie still has his perspective though as he called with good news regarding his star linebacker from his 2004 team Darius Dewberry.

"You want to know the best news I've gotten in a long time," asked Rance Gillespie rhetorically. "Darius Dewberry just got an 820 on his SAT and a 19 on his ACT. He'll finish out the year at Hargrave, but he's good to go now."

Darius Dewberry is a 5 star linebacker prospect that signed with Georgia with the Class of 2005. He was slated for Hargrave Military school from the beginning, and Hargrave has once again been a great benefit to a student athlete in need of extra attention in the classroom.

Despite a State Championship game looming, Gillespie was thrilled to hear the news about his former linebacker, and Georgia fans will be too.

"Darius Dewberry is a freak," said Hargrave Head Coach Robert Prunty earlier this year. "He's an NFL kid."

A year older, stronger, and wiser, Dewberry should push for playing time as a true freshman when he reports to Georgia in the Summer of 2006.
