The four-day event kicks off Thursday at 3:30 p.m. CST with the opening day of heptathlon and decathlon action. The action at W.O. Spencer Stadium/Carl Maddox Track concludes Sunday evening with men's and women's 4x400-meter relay action.
Tennessee looks to repeat as team champion on the men's side after claiming the championship at last season's meet in Columbia, S.C. Arkansas heads to Starkville aiming to snag a third consecutive team title following a repeat championship at the South Carolina-hosted event.
The return of the conference meet to Starkville marks the first time since 1992 -- the first year Arkansas and South Carolina joined the league -- that the Bulldogs and Lady Dogs have played host to the annual event.
Arkansas started a streak of nine consecutive SEC titles that year, a streak that continued until last season when it was halted by the Volunteers. Florida claimed the women's title that year to halt LSU's five-year streak of securing the team championship.
Admission to Thursday's action is free to the public. Tickets for the remaining three days of the championship can be purchased through the MSU Athletic Department ticket office in the Bryan Athletic Administration Building or by calling (662) 325-2600 or 1-888-GO-DAWGS (1-888-46-32947).
Daily tickets can be purchased at pencer Stadium. Prices for daily admissions are $5 for adults and $3 for college students with a valid student ID and children ages 17 and under.
