Minter has arthroscopic knee surgery

ATHENS - Senior Georgia cornerback DeMario Minter had arthroscopic knee surgery on Wednesday but will be available to play in the Sugar Bowl.

Minter probably won't be 100 percent in time for the start of practice on Dec. 16, though. The No. 8 Bulldogs (10-2) play No. 11 West Virginia (10-1) in the Georgia Dome at 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 2.

DeMario Minter had the surgery in the week after one of his finest games as a Bulldog, when he had several key tackles and an interception in the SEC Championship Game against LSU. He also was named to the All-SEC first team this week.
