Dawgs Get Perfect 10

The Georgia Bulldogs entertained a host of official visitors this weekend, but the biggest un-committed recruit was likely Alabama WR Tim Hawthorne. The 4-star prospect loved his trip to Athens and he gave the visit a perfect 10.

"I pretty much saw everything I needed to know about Georgia. I got all the questions I needed answered. I got to give it a 10 because Georgia man, Athens is a great place. It's not as small as some people think it is and it's very enjoyable," Tim Hawthorne said.

Tim was hosted by standout freshman WR, Mohamed Massaquoi.

"Mohamed Massaquoi was my host. We talked a lot and played NCAA football. We went to a couple of parties and he just gave me a heads up on the recruiting process and let me know about all the coaches. As soon as I met him we just clicked. We do things a lot of the same ways and were a lot alike."

"I just got to interact with the players and see everybody. That was really the only thing that I hadn't done there yet. It was good to see some of the social stuff that goes on down there. I got along with all the players."

He says he's confident in the future of the quarterbak position at Georgia.

"I read the paper article about Matthew Stafford winning the State Championship and I know he's coming in there. They still haven't chosen a starter but I'm well aware that whoever emerges as the starter will be able to get the ball to the receivers."

Hawthorne spent some time with Coach Eason and Coach Richt.

"Coach Eason is just great. He's a teacher of the game and I get along with him so well. Coach Richt just emphasized what he's said all along and that's that they really want me. There is definitely an opportunity to come in there and start early, maybe as a freshman."

Tim has yet to set any other visits. He plans to narrow his list soon and he says the Dawgs will definitely be one of the finalists.

"I haven't set any others up yet but the next 4 will likely be in January. I'm gonna cut my list down to 6 or 7 here soon and go from there. Georgia is definitely one of the finalists and that's all I know right now.

The nightlife in Athens was maybe the highlight of the tip for the Alabama native.

"Downtown is as advertised by the players. There's a lot of stuff to do. There's always something to do whether it be downtown or a little party on campus. I got to hang out with Kris Durham, Asher Allen, Kiante Tripp, Ricardo Crawford and just everybody pretty much. I had a great time."
