Harris confident in future of receivers

ATHENS – Kenneth Harris spoke with Dean Legge for a short time after one of Georgia's fall practices.

NOTE: This article was published on December 18, 2005, but considering Sean Bailey's ACL injury Harris could now be the starter at that spot. Here's a look at what Harris said:

Dean Legge: What do you do during bowl practice to get yourself ready for the spring?

Kenneth Harris: You go back and look over the season and see some of the things you did well and some of the things you need to work on. I think you have to assess those things. I think you have to try to perfect everything.

This was your first full season – what kind of grade would you give yourself?

I think I would give myself a C.

Don't you think that's a little harsh?

I guess a C or a B. I've done some good things, but my blocking is still not where it should be. That's something I know I need to work on, and that is something I will work on.

As a group, the receivers lose Bryan McClendon; tell me about the receivers in the future. Also, you will have a new quarterback next season.

I think, just like every year, we are going to be ok. We've got great quarterbacks – we've got Joe T, Joe Cox and Blake Barnes and we have the quarterback coming in from Texas, so I think we are going to be fine. The receivers, we are losing Bryan McClendon, who is a great leader and a great player. We are losing a lot with him. But Sean Bailey, Mohamed, A.J. and I are all coming back.
